If you’ve missed the historic steamboats of Lake George, New York — you’re in luck! Despite a shaky start brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Lake George Steamboat Company’s historic trio are back in the water for tourists and locals alike to enjoy!
As of June 11, 2020, the Lake George Steamboat Company is back for summer fun! The historic trio of steamboats, known as Minne-Ha-Ha, Luc Du Saint Sacrement and Mohican II, will be back in the water and fully operational. The Mohican II will be the first to test the waters.
The opening, however, isn’t without its own splash of pandemic culture. Visitors will be required to wear face masks. The Mohican II will offer four sight-seeing cruises each day, as opposed to its usual seven. According to Patricia Dow, Vice President of the Lake George Steamboat Company, the latter is to ensure the crew has enough time to clean the Mohican II’s interior in between cruises.
