Are you a young sailor or sailing enthusiast with a passion for film? The Oregon Youth Sailing Foundation is hosting their Second Annual Sailing Short Film Competition! The cash prize may even assist in expanding your sailing adventures!

For decades, Jamie Simmons has been an avid adventurer.  By far, his favorite mode of adventurous transportation is his trusty monohull sailboat!  Passionate about the sport, he believes there’s much to be learned by sailing — especially for youth!  Simmons has long supported programs that foster a young person’s interest in sailing, such as the Youth Sailing Initiative (YSI).  Now, he’s setting his sights on supporting the Oregon Youth Sailing Foundation, which has just announced that they are hosting a sailing short film contest!

This short film contest is the second of its kind to be hosted by the Oregon Youth Sailing Foundation.  To qualify for the competition, participants must be between the ages of 15 and 25.  The first ten entries will be submitted into a raffle for a new Laser.  The deadline for submissions is 11:59 PM PT, October 4, 2020.  For more information on what your short film can entail, be sure to check out the official release from Sailing Scuttle Butt.
